Digital Storytelling Course Designer & Instructor
Designed and taught this special topics course. Highlights included the introduction of the Google+ Community discussion space for students to share projects and digital stories. In October 2014, ten students presented at the Library 2.0 Worldwide Virtual Conference, a professional conference focusing on the future of libraries in the digital age. The session was entitled Channeling Energies in Library Digital Storytelling, and participants from around the world attended online.
 
LIS forum on assessment in online instruction
Planned and facilitated session on assessment in online courses for LIS faculty.
 
School library program faculty
Align curriculum and develop rubrics in accordance with ongoing updates in school library program (AASL) and teacher licensure (NCATE/CAEP) standards. Review and evaluate students’ work in the TaskStream online portfolio system. Maintain continuous improvement log.
 
New faculty member responsibilities
I constructed new syllabi for six courses, including selection of readings and media; development of weekly lectures and multimedia content for face-to-face instruction or online assignments, instructions, and rubrics; and in-class and online learning tasks. I designed the BlackBoard or Canvas course environments for these courses. I worked with LIS colleague Dr. Linda Gann to update the syllabus and course activities for LIS 653, including new readings, learning exercises, lectures, and assignments.
